Percentage Of Landscape Architecture Work Completed By NLA: 100%

This 2-acre constructed wetland system was built to demonstrate how a wetland can filter and clean unusable water and make it usable. It takes run-off water from the ‘Africa Plains’ valley,  home to numerous plants and animals at the Zoo Safari Park, and runs it through natural biological filtration. It improves the water quality in the Park as well as decreases park water consumption. As water flows through individual ponds, it is filtered and naturally treated, becoming clean water as it exists the wetland.  This functional ‘exhibit’ acts as an educational component for visitors as well.
